WHAT DO YOU DO AT CAPTAINU?
I am on the athlete support team. My main purpose is to help guide you and your parents through the college recruiting process. Finding and choosing a college should be a really exciting time in your life and I am here to help you make the most out of it! I am available to respond to any support emails and calls.
DID YOU PLAY SPORTS IN COLLEGE?
I rowed for four years on the women’s rowing team at The University of Kansas. I was scouted by one of the rowing coaches at orientation the first week of my freshman year and was asked to try out for the team. Little did I know that moment would make such a huge impact on the rest of my life!
TALK ABOUT YOUR EDUCATION & BACKGROUND:
I was born in Chicago, but when I was eight years old I moved to London, England (unfortunately I don’t have a british accent) and attended the American School in London until I returned to the US for college. I went to the University of Kansas for both undergraduate and graduate school where I received a liberal arts degree in General Studies and a Masters degree in Sport Management. I was hired as the Graduate Assistant Women’s Rowing Coach at The University of Kansas once I completed my four years of eligibility as a rower.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF CAPTAINU?
I have always had a very active lifestyle so whether it is waterskiing in the summer or skiing in the winter, I am always doing something! I have always had a passion for travel so whenever I get the chance I love to experience new places, try new foods and meet new people!
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST PIECE OF ADVICE FOR CAPTAINU ATHLETES?
Be open minded! It is great if you know what you want, but allow yourself to explore many different avenues before making your final decision. You never know what is around the corner!
ANY LAST THOUGHTS?
I am so excited to be a part of the CaptainU team because I know all of the amazing opportunities that college athletics can offer. I can’t wait to help guide you through this journey!
